# 32

Veronica folded the fan loudly.
“We're here, Evelyn.”
I looked up from the window, where I had been watching her with a wide nose, and turned toward her. Veronica was looking at me with a smile. Her impressions of the two biographies certainly differ.
Today was the day to visit the Natural History Museum.
Today was the museum's reopening day, and I heard that Veronica was invited as the Empress's representative. Veronica wanted me to accompany her.
I remembered when Rosalina broke the news to me, she was looking at me with eyes full of amazement.
“Why of all people..?”
She was a person who did not hesitate to say anything to people's faces. Oh, I feel like I'm getting more and more angry lately.
Be patient, be patient. There will come a day when all of this will end. If not, I will do anything to get her out of it.
Or perhaps I might break off my relationship with her and insist on two biographies... Oh, that's miserable behavior. Why do I only have these options?
Anyway, thanks to her I got out again.
The outside air is fresh.
Although I couldn't have free time for myf due to the presence of the monitors and guards, the fact that I got out of the palace was enjoyable.
“I don't know if this is an appropriate reward, but it's a thank you for your gift on my birthday.”
Christmas gift? I chose a type of tea for her. I read the ingredients carefully and chose a tea that had a detoxifying effect.
It was an herbal tea, and I remember the smell being good.
I tried to choose it carefully without showing it to Sirtain. Fortunately, my efforts paid off. Veronica looked happy too.
“Huh?”
I pretended not to understand and tilted my head slightly.
“What's the reward?”
“It means a gift, Evelyn. The palace is… a little boring, isn’t it?”
"That's right! It's so boring!"
She quickly agreed.
No matter how much I did to survive, my insides felt clogged when I thought about having to live like an idiot for the rest of my life.
When I look at two biographies, those feelings become even more intense.
My feelings, my thoughts, I couldn't express anything honestly.
I wanted to ask Sirtain.
What do you think of me? Why are you looking at me that way? Do you know anything about me?
“So, I hope our outing today will be enjoyable for Evelyn.”
“I loved it!”
Veronica smiled.
Although thinking about Spelman makes me feel overwhelmed, there was no other choice. I had to stay by Veronica's side.
The entrance to the Natural History Museum was crowded with people who came to welcome us.
A handsome old man approached us. He seemed to be the head of the Natural History Museum.
“Greetings to Her Highness Little Moon of the Empire and Her Highness the Princess. It is a great honor to have you come and bless this event.”
“It's been a long time, sir.”
"Welcome!"
The old man smiled at us.
The Natural History Museum was a bit far from the center of the capital, and there was a forest behind it.
It was only later that we realized that there was an unexpected guest.
“It has been a long time since we last met, Your Majesty.”
It was the Duke of Spelman.
Duke Spelman took off his hat and looked directly into my eyes.
“Have you been well, Your Highness?”
"… my dad."
She smiled as cheerfully as she could, pretending not to know anything.
Although the place looked like an ordinary museum, his presence made it seem like a massive trap hiding unexpected things.
Inside that trap, there was a poisonous snake watching us from behind a mask.
Veronica's face hardened.
Duke Spellman ignored me and extended his hand to me.
“Do you want to walk with me?”
He seemed like a really caring father.

“Deploy soldiers around Oliver Hall and reinforce guarding measures.”
Certain gave his orders in a cold voice
The Oliver Hall was the place where Veronica's birthday banquet was held this time. The Duke of Spelmann had given it to the Emperor as a favor.
The Emperor, deep in debt and gambling, accepted Szpilmann's proposal.
"Do you think it's safe, Your Highness? Perhaps it's best to cancel the ceremony altogether."
Mortega spoke anxiously.
“Attempts to target Her Majesty the Princess have increased recently. This must have something to do with it...”
“Sure.”
Certain said in a cold voice.
Duke Spelman was a master at setting traps from which there was no escape. But as time passed, as the fruits ripened, Sertain was no longer that helpless child.
“We will set a counter-trap.”
What was reassuring was that Oliver Hall was located within the Royal Palace.
It's funny that Duke Spelman has power in a place reserved only for the royal family.
“Fill the hall completely with our servants, and mix in some soldiers. Choose the smaller ones.”
“Yes, Your Highness!”
Certain had his own cavalry squad which he commanded himf.
From a young age, Cyrtain was forced to fight wars under Spelmann's influence.
He didn't have the strength to defend himf at that time, and the Emperor didn't protect him.
However, there were some benefits to this situation.
The knights who had been with him for a long time had no loyalty to Spellman.
Those who crossed the line of death with Sertin hated Spellman. They were the ones Spielman threw away. They knew what it meant to be on the edge of a cliff and in despair.
“There will definitely be movement. Be careful of anyone who approaches Veronica. Track anyone who approaches her. Veronica must not be out of your sight.”
But this was not enough. Cyrtain needed a card capable of distracting Spielmann, even for a moment.
Spielman.
Sirtain muttered.
“How about using Your Highness Evelin?”
Syrtin slowly raised his eyes. There was a heavy feeling in his gaze, as if a storm was raging inside him.
Mortega had seen such eyes on the battlefield.
Eyes filled with intense desire for something.
A desire to live and a desire to protect someone.
Mortega swallowed.
“Your Highness...?”
Cyrtain smiled kindly at the anxious call.
“What if Evelyn is in danger? Spellman won’t hesitate.”
“So, can’t I…..?”
Sertin showed a strange expression.
He didn't know why Evelin, who was holding out a skewer of worthless fruit, came to his mind at this moment.
Cerdin smiled as usual.
Throughout his life he never hesitated for a moment. Every day he was breathing hard and racing against time to stay alive.
The Duke of Spelman was seeking to kill young Cyrtain, but he did not want to get his hands dirty personally.
Because this would not give him popular acceptance and would not enable him to become Emperor of the Empire.
Duke Spellman moved a little more intelligently. And Cyrtain was driven to no end, with death at his side.
And Evelyn, she was the daughter of the Duke of Spelman.
Behind that innocent face, Spellman's blood was flowing. She was not a girl deserving of sympathy.
"This is correct!"
"What?"
Sirtain opened his lips.
"Why not…?"
He felt the taste of the sugar he had once eaten still lingering in his mouth.
“Your Highness?”
“Cut Evelyn out of the plan. No one should be put in danger.”
“So, how…?”
“Isn't it time for that one currently trapped underground to find its usefulness?”
“But there is a risk that he will escape.”
“It's okay. As long as we can get attention for a while.”
Certain laughed coldly.
He never thought that the Assassination Guild Master he captured would be used in this way.
This man did not say any names, but only introduced some of the followers who were later killed.
“Give him money, and tell him that he will be free if he completes the mission successfully. Tell him that he will get more money, too.”
These people were willing to do anything for money. So there was no hesitation in taking advantage of it.
“As you command, Your Highness.”
Mortega answered in a low voice, but he kept thinking about the conversation that had just taken place.
At that moment, Rosalina came to his mind.
Mortega bit his lips tightly.
It was obvious that a woman as unfit for the position of Crown Princess as Evelyn would use an unexpected and cunning trick to seduce Cyrtain.
‘I must ask Miss Rosalina for help. This woman is not suitable.'
Evelyn was poison to Sertine.
A stain on his ideal future.
Mortega was willing to do anything for Sertin.
