# 41
---
Jimmy returned to the palace seething, and began to take his anger out on everything.
He was panting irritably, kicking the furniture in succession.
The Viscountess tried to calm him down, and was appalled by his condition.
“Dear...what happened?”
“That Dana is out of the house. Completely gone!”
Dana's passing was unbelievable.
Jimmy continued, clenching his teeth.
"She packed her bags yesterday and left! And that damned department at the Ministry of Magic wouldn't let me in!"
He stood in front of the Ministry building for a long time, but Dana did not appear.
When the knights saw him loitering suspiciously, they approached him, and he fled again.
stammered the Viscountess in astonishment.
“It doesn’t make sense... you left us?”
Jamie turned to face the Viscount.
“You were saying that you cast the magic of instilling thoughts on her! So that she could live her whole life serving the family!”
“Yes… I did.”
The Viscount was clearly confused as well.
“This magic does not fade...it is only affected by the blood of dragons.”
"So what's going on here! Dana is not of the imperial lineage!"
The Viscountess was listening to their conversation, then began pacing the ground nervously.
"This is not the time to talk about that! The palace is about to be taken away from us!"
"the curse!"
The Viscount cursed as he hurried to put on his going-out clothes.
“I'm going to the bank. And you… find that Dana by any means!”
Jimmy stared at his father's collapsed face. Even if he went to the bank and protested, nothing would change.
He'll do what he does every time: scream, grab an employee, and then get fired.
He saw Dana as an eternal servant, an inexhaustible mine.
When what he thought was guaranteed disappeared, everything went black in his head.
The palace would soon be towed, and they would end up on the street.
Worse still… Viscount Hamburn.
A man who had a reputation in the back alleys and would not leave anyone who deceived him alone.
“They say he is a human trafficker too...”
Jimmy's shoulders trembled.
The object of his fear was Dana.
"Damn it! It's all because of that abomination!"
How could she leave without gratitude!
The moment of their first meeting came back to his mind.
A little girl in a torn dress, covered in dust.
His parents were naive, but he understood immediately.
The fabric touching her skin was no different from the clothes of the high-ranking nobles he was staring at from afar.
Jimmy was by nature calculating every little thing.
When he entered into a conversation, his eyes were not on the person's features, but on everything around him.
This was the seed of his misery.
This created in him a constant regret about what he could not have.
From the first moment, Dana was sticking her thorns into his heart.
A little girl, but her blue eyes were straight, steady.
A noble look that does not resemble him at all, and it enrages him.
That greed-free aura... and that serenity.
He felt like he was being stripped naked just looking at her.
Even when they dressed her in cheap clothes and put a worn-out rag in her hands... that good sense did not disappear.
That's what made him unbearable to her.
The dignity he had never been able to possess in his entire life… was simply oozing out of her.
So he humiliated her excessively.
To prove to her that she is inferior to him, and that all she can do is sacrifice for them.
One day, the father brought a black magician he met in a gambling hall.
The magician cast an indoctrination spell - brainwashing - in exchange for a trivial sum.
From that day on, Dana knew her misery...but she could not escape the family.
The feeling of guilt, created by that dark sorcery, was holding her by the ankle and preventing her from walking away.
Jimmy liked that very much.
Every time he disdained her and trampled on her dignity, he felt a strange pleasure.
It was his only way to relieve the inferiority complex he held toward the franchisees.
However… dare to leave!
The girl who was supposed to be always obedient... abandons him!
Jimmy's eyes sparkled sharply.
At that moment, a maid came forward hesitantly, almost disappearing due to the solemnity that prevailed over the place.
She spoke in a small voice.
“The… a guest has come…”
“What?”
The maid trembled under Jimmy's sharp look, and her head dropped.
“It's…it's related to Miss Dana…”
As soon as Dana's name was heard, the Viscountess and Jamie ran towards the main hall.
“I knew...she must have come to her senses!”
The Viscountess rushed with quick steps, the exhilaration of victory appearing on her features.
And Jimmy had the same thought blowing through his head.
This deeply penetrating spell cannot be lifted!
How will he punish her? Perhaps seeing her kneel with a condescending face would be an interesting sight.
But at that moment, the viscountess's embellished train stopped wagging.
Her voice came out tinged with confusion.
“Who...are you?”
Jamie was stunned as well. There was no low-headed Dana.
Standing in the hall was a man with a calm presence and a knowing feeling surrounding him.
Behind him are two large men, standing firm.
Their appearance seemed simple, but the sheaths at their flanks revealed what they were: knights.
The middle-aged man with an ice-cold gaze wandered between Jamie and the Viscountess.
There was a majesty that was difficult to express in words.
He raised his glasses with a careless gesture.
“Greetings, Mrs. Hartwyn. This is Attorney Karl Royden, representing Mrs. Dana.”
"lawyer…?"
The Viscountess's eyes trembled.
She muttered, looking
“Jimmy…”
Jimmy asked in a shocked tone.
“T-that Dana hired a lawyer?”
"Yes, that's right. And you are probably Mr. Jimmy Hartwin."
Karl took out a document from his bag. Jimmy couldn't stand it, so he lunged at him.
Here the two knights moved for the first time.
“A…!”
The sword edge rose right next to his neck.
Just one step...and the edge sinks into the flesh.
“Ahh!”
The Viscountess screamed in horror.
Karl said in an even voice.
“We should talk a little.”
“T-You’re talking? First, take the sword away from my son...”
The Viscountess's confusion was evident, as if she feared the mere scratch on her dear boy.
This son of hers is precious to her.
Karl nodded expressionlessly.
So the knight lowered his sword.
Jimmy's knees gave way, and he shook to his feet with difficulty.
No one cared about them.
Karl took out a pocket watch and checked the time.
“We're too late. I'll keep it short here.”
He did not seem to see any need to sit down, but merely looked at his papers.
“In short... the debts you owe to Mrs. Dana are many. You must bear the appropriate punishment and compensate her.”
Jimmy caught his balance with difficulty and stared at Karl with hostility.
“What sins! Do you have proof?”
"Two questions then? Okay, I'll answer."
Karl opened his speech without emotion.
“Kidnapping, domestic violence, forced labor of a minor, trying to offer my client in exchange for paying a debt to usury brokers, and then...”
"T-Stop! Kidnap what?"
Jimmy interrupted with a half-scream.
Dana thought they were her real family... didn't she?
He felt anxiety rising in his chest.
“Just as I heard. When she was six, and she lost her memory, you took her away. You didn’t inform the authorities, and you didn’t try to look for her family.”
There was silence between Jamie and the Viscountess.
Dana knows...she knows that they are not her family?
“Did...did that girl regain her memory?”
Jimmy was the first to speak.
Carl was a little upset by the rude description.
“There is no need to explain this. The important thing is that all the evidence is preserved.”
cried the Viscountess madly.
“I want... I want to see her! She will hear what her mother says!”
“Members of the Hartwyn family are prohibited from meeting Ms. Dana. Based on what was done to her, restrictive measures have been imposed on you. Take this into consideration.”
