Chapter 35: Goodbye Jerry's Gang
One of the bandits said sarcastically, laughing mockingly:
“How bold...a woman coming to a place like this with a child!”
The gang leader, Jerry, came forward, raising his chin smugly:
“When someone talks to you, you have to answer. Why are you so rigid, girl?”
The brown-haired woman's lips trembled for a moment, but she quickly regained her cool.
She stood completely silent, as if she had heard nothing.
Jerry laughed slyly:
“It's okay... I like the reluctant type. Play becomes more fun when we break their ego.”
He extended his hand and violently grabbed her wrist to pull her towards him, but he was surprised by a cold voice whispering in his ear:
“I too… adore the joy of breaking.”
"What did you say?"
She smiled a creepy smile as she stared into his eyes.
“I said I like to break arrogant people like you.”
Jerry laughed loudly and turned to his men:
“Hahaha! They say the women of the capital are rude, and it seems they really are!”
But his laughter did not last long.
The moment he reached out to grab her hair—
She disappeared in front of him!
"What?!"
He heard her voice behind him:
“Too slow.”
One kick to the back of his knees knocked him down like a tree trunk.
His nose hit the dirt in a shock the likes of which he had never experienced in his life.
Jerry stood up angrily, taking a dagger out of his jacket:
“I'll kill you, you bitch!”
But his movement was too slow for her eye to catch it.
Just one movement—and his wrist twisted with a terrifying cracking sound.
“Aaaah!”
The dagger fell to the ground, and Jerry screamed in pain, while she stood looking at him coldly.
She said with a cold smile:
“I told you… I like breaking.”
The gang men retreated in fear, some clutching their weapons, others shaking without knowing why.
Someone shouted with false courage:
“Finish her! Don’t let her brag any longer!”
She pursed her lips mockingly:
“Fools...don't live long.”
Her green eyes sparkled as she pulled the dagger from the ground gracefully, as if the weapon had been made for her hand.
One scream... followed by another.
Where her silver blade passed, blood flowed profusely.
“Catch her!”
"No way! She's too fast!"
Five bodies fell in seconds, and the rest retreated in terror.
She jumped over one of them and broke his neck without hesitation.
The rest shook with terror, and finally one of them shouted:
“Run! Run!”
But it was too late.
The echo of their cries did not fade away, until silence descended.
No one left standing...
Jerry sat on his back, trembling, staring at his men lying on the ground:
“A monster... You are a monster!”
She laughed mockingly:
“I haven't heard that word for a long time.”
She advanced towards him, her steps slow, while he retreated in mortal fear.
She didn't get a single scratch, while his men were all on the ground.
She said quietly, smiling a smile more terrifying than murder:
“Don't worry, I didn't kill them. I just left them with some small wounds... If they don't stop the bleeding, they will die.”
Jerry gasped, screaming desperately:
“W-Who the hell are you?!”
She approached him until his gaze became immersed in her green eyes:
“You really want to know who I am?”
She brushed a strand of hair from her face and said with a smile:
“I'm... a nanny.”
Before he could comprehend the word, he was surprised by a strong kick to his temple.
Jerry fell unconscious, and the last word he heard was stranger than anything he expected: Nanny.

After the battle
She took a deep breath, wiping the sweat from her forehead.
“As I expected… I still can't face a large group easily.”
Her body has changed from her days as the leader of the Assassins Guild. Her strength and stamina were now much weaker.
But her night training saved her—if it wasn't for them, she wouldn't have survived.
She approached the carriage, only to see an even more disturbing sight.
The driver was lying in his seat, with an arrow stuck in his chest.
She muttered coldly:
“Great... now we have to manage the drive too.”
But what really worried her was the sound coming from inside the carriage.
“W-What happened here?!”
Edun has woken up.
He opened his eyes to the sight of bodies lying on the ground and blood splattered around him.
I approached him quickly:
“Your Highness, are you okay?”
She held out her arm as he stared at the chaos around him:
"These... who are they? Why are they lying like this?"
"Just bandits. They're not dead, they're just unconscious."
Idun shuddered as he saw the blood on her dress:
“You...has something happened to you? And who did all this?”
He put his hand on his head tiredly:
“I...I was awake, and then I felt a hit in my neck, and then I didn’t remember anything.”
She smiled softly:
“The car stopped suddenly. You must have crashed and lost consciousness.”
He nodded slowly, still confused.
“But… I feel like something bad is going to happen. Please, let’s go back.”
She answered him decisively:
“We have come too far to go back. There is only a little left to reach Luxen Village.”
She pulled the horses' reins and sat in the driver's place:
“Come on!”
The cart set off again, this time at a faster speed, heading towards the cursed village.
