“WOO!! WOOOO!!”
The barking was so loud that even dog lovers had to cover their ears. A dog whose body was larger than the volume of its bark was wagging its tail happily and rushed towards Irel. However, because of the thick chains wrapped around its neck, it could only jump up and down in place and could not come closer.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm glad to see you too."
Irel waved nonchalantly. Choco became even more emotional, or should we say its faces with two heads growling happily, spinning around.
."It's strange. Choco is getting close to someone else."
Varkan, holding a cigar, spoke meaningfully. His eyes looked at his pet as if he felt betrayed and strange.
“Haha. That's true.”
Irel smiled awkwardly, gently touching the ring on her finger. Immediately, the system description window appeared again in a friendly way.
[Druid's Ring: Forest Druids have long been close to nature, possessing the mystical ability to communicate with animals. The wearer of this ring can use Druid magic to attract goodwill from animals.]
Should have given me something more useful.
Seeing that Irel looked a bit sad, Varkan shrugged. And he held out something with the hand that wasn't holding the cigar.
“What is this?”
She accidentally took it and asked, Varkan blew thin smoke through his red lips, smirking.
“Bone to chew on for dogs.”
"Yes?"
"Throw it to him. Give it to Choco."
It turns out these are chew bones for dogs. I thought it was a baton.
Maybe it's an okay snack
‘bespoke’
for Choco's body. Irel looked bewildered and threw the bone away. Immediately, the two heads began to tear each other apart over a single piece of bone.
‘After all, the stomach is connected, right?’
Everyone eats the same, why do we have to do that? This fight for food is too cruel, it's not just a joke. Dimly we could see drops of blood splashing between the sharp fangs.
Stretch yourself. Irel shivered and took a step back. But Varkan had different thoughts.
"My God. Look at the wrinkles on his nose. How adorable."
Did he really say that? Irel glanced to the side with a humorless face. However, Varkan's face, with slightly furrowed yet smiling eyebrows, seemed to be genuinely admiring his pet dog's cuteness.
“Since when did you raise it?”
Irel asked nonchalantly. She wasn't really curious, just asking to get along with the story.
"Not long. About two years."
"Oh? That's all?"
Irel was surprised. Looking at their bond, she thought they had at least been together for more than a decade.
"Choco is still a baby. He's probably only about two years old."
Is he joking? That thing is only two years old?
Irel looked serious. Choco's body is bigger than that of a normal bull. She began to doubt Varkan's mental state calling that thing
‘childish’
.
"Yes... That's true. Why do you raise an animal... like Choco..."
Irel hesitated, not daring to ask directly
'Where did you pick up that scary monster?'
. But Varkan, who was observant, understood what she meant.
"Choco and I have a special relationship. One day, my subordinates reported that they discovered an illegal dog fighting ring in the area I manage. I met Choco for the first time there."
"Illegal dog fighting arena? It's horrible."
"Gambling addicts are incurable. They are pests willing to do anything to win money. Therefore, they do not hesitate to breed dogs with each other to create dangerous mutants, in order to win."
Varkan shrugged, saying it all started when he rescued Choco from that place. Then he uttered his confession in a quiet voice.
“When I first discovered that dogfighting arena, I was very angry.”
"You're right to be angry. How could you do that to living creatures..."
"Bastards are worse than dogs. Dare to do business without permission in my territory."
"Yes?"
"If they aren't the same people, then what are they?"
Then he laughed heartily, saying that he had actually ripped out all their internal organs. Irel turned to look at him blankly. And then, her eyes met his.
His eyes were sharp, with dark red lashes and glowing golden pupils. But thanks to the slightly drooping corners of the eyes, it does not cause pressure but also radiates a strange charm, a mixture of intensity and laziness.
Furthermore, the corners of his lips were too radiant. Because of this, every time Varkan smiled, she felt like everything in front of her eyes lit up. Of course, as soon as he spoke, all these emotions fell into pieces.
“Why do you look at me like that?”
He smiled and asked with his eyes closed. Before, she would have been confused, but after a while together, Irel calmly smiled back.
“It's because you're so handsome.”
“How beautiful is it?”
The smile was even darker than before, signaling a bad omen. If she answered incorrectly, she would definitely be dragged inside and have another fight
‘fight’
right in the middle of a walk.
'Impossible! I just woke up.'
Irel quickly used her mind. And she found a vague answer that didn't push him too far away, and didn't necessarily agree.
“Um, I think…
cough
.”
Unfortunately, she didn't get a chance to say her prepared answer. His throat suddenly felt itchy, and a cough came out before he spoke.
"Cough cough, cough! Cough!"
The coughing became more and more severe, making Varkan frown. Even though she was much more used to it, Irel still always paid attention to his eyes. So Varkan's unpleasant face tends to make her timid.
Irel tried his best to suppress his cough. But the more she tried to suppress it, the more violently it flared up.
“Cough, cough… Cough, cough!!”
Ah, that phenomenon again.
Irel was both painful and awkward. She had known to just vomit
conglomerate
You'll feel comfortable right away, so you won't be afraid anymore. But she was worried about Varkan's thoughts.
He is a neatly dressed person so he usually doesn't like dirty things. He likes seeing blood but hates it getting on him. So if she vomits
conglomerate
, he will definitely feel disgusted.
Before offending him, Irel quickly covered her mouth and turned around. But before she could leave, Varkan violently threw the cigar in his hand to the ground, then grabbed her shoulder.
“Come here.”
Surprisingly, instead of showing disgust, he pulled Irel into his arms. She was still confused about being hugged, when a strong hand patted her back. The hand caressed from top to bottom carefully, as if touching a dried flower that was about to burst.
"Why is this? Is it because of the cigars I smoke?"
He asked. No, he muttered softly as if questioning himself. Thanks to that, Irel didn't need to answer and focused on serving
conglomerate
out.
"Cough, cough! Ugh…!!"
It's finally out. Irel wiped his mouth tiredly and looked down

gulp
to the ground. Same size as last time, and still black.
“Ah.”
Varkan frowned when he saw it
conglomerate
. He finally remembered that this symptom had happened before.
‘Why did I forget?’
He has always had a good memory. So good that he never forgets anyone who shows even the slightest insolence in front of him, and he personally punishes them.
But just now, his mind was blank. He couldn't recall memories, nor could he think. It was as if he was frightened when he saw her in pain before his eyes.
